  • 21 Jun 2019

On June 18th, over 120 decision makers and aviation professionals from Eurocontrol, IATA, Chinese ATC, and airports across China have joined the first Chinese Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) Seminar in Beijing co-hosted by China Civil Airport Association (CCAA) and VariFlight, a leading aviation data technology provider.

At a time when all Chinese airports with 10-30 million annual passenger turnover are poised to implement A-CDM system by the end of 2019, there are growing needs for stakeholders of air traffic to learn about the practices, difficulties, and future trends of A-CDM. During the seminar, featured speakers from To70 Aviation, CCAA, IATA, CAAC Northwest Regional Administration, Kunming and Pudong Airports, and Sichuan Airlines have shared their insights about the role A-CDM played in boosting the efficiency for airport from different perspectives. Experts from system suppliers like Huawei and Alibaba also introduced how cutting-edge 5G and cloud computing technologies can address issues facing A-CDM and help build a smarter system.

As a market leader in the R&D and promoting of A-CDM in China, VariFlight’s solution is trusted by over 100 airports, including Hongkong Airport, Shanghai Pudong Airport, and Kunming Airport. VariFlight walks its airport partners through all phases in their preparation of the A-CDM system, including data collection, data interaction, intelligent decision-making, and system implementation. The system features a seamless integration of the desktop and mobile applications, providing easy accesses to the system for relevant stuff at every corner of the airport. Equipped with latest IoT device like electronic block and AI-empowered video surveillance, VariFlight’s A-CDM significantly reduces the reliance of manpower in collecting data. As a result, KPIs of airports are significantly enhanced. On average, the departure on-time performance rate and the number of departure flights during peak hour can be raised by 8%; over 80% of flights can dock at PBBs; coordinators at AOC will receive 65% less phone calls.
