Over the first nine months of the year, HKIA handled 27.7 million passengers and 192,090 flight movements, representing increases of more than 11 times and nearly a double, respectively, from the low bases recorded during the same period in 2022. Cargo volume declined slightly by 1.3% year on year to 3.1 million tonnes.

On a 12-month rolling basis, passenger volume at HKIA saw a remarkable 10-fold year-on-year increase to 31 million, while flight movements rose by 67.1% to 234,110 movements. Cargo throughput decreased 8.8% to 4.2 million tonnes.
