Sharjah Airport celebrates Mid-Sha’ban in a traditional atmosphere

  • 2026-02-03

Sharjah Airport celebrated the occasion of mid-Sha’ban with passengers, as part of its commitment to showcasing the UAE’s authentic cultural heritage, strengthening national identity, and preserving community traditions associated with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

The airport’s facilities witnessed a festive traditional atmosphere, with gifts distributed to children in a gesture reflecting the spirit and significance of the occasion.

Sharjah Airport noted that the celebration is part of a series of community initiatives it is implementing to revive traditional occasions and introduce them to younger generations, thereby contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage and reinforcing it as an integral part of national identity.

Mid-Sha’ban, also referred to as “Hag Al Laila”, is a long-established Emirati tradition observed annually in the middle of the Islamic month of Sha’ban, celebrating the approach of Ramadan through social activities and the distribution of gifts to children.
