Pilgrims praised the high level of organisation and the ease of procedures throughout their journey via the airport. They noted that services were seamless, allowing them to complete arrival procedures swiftly and comfortably. This added a positive touch to their return following their spiritual journey.
Airport teams greeted the pilgrims with flowers and traditional Emirati hospitality, reflecting values of warmth and care while enhancing their arrival experience.

These efforts were part of early preparations and a comprehensive operational plan implemented by Sharjah Airport Authority in coordination with relevant entities. The plan ensured smooth passenger movement and efficiently handled the large number of returning pilgrims.
The welcome also reflects Sharjah Airport’s high level of readiness, both in terms of operational infrastructure and human resources. The airport’s ability to manage peak travel seasons effectively further strengthens its position as a key regional and international travel hub.
Integrated Travel Experience for pilgrims
As part of its commitment to delivering integrated services in line with the highest international standards, Sharjah Airport bid farewell today to pilgrims departing for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj for the year 1447 AH, operating within a comprehensive framework that reflects a high level of readiness and effective institutional coordination with various strategic partners.
This initiative comes as part of the airport’s ongoing dedication to provide an exceptional travel experience for pilgrims, focused on operational efficiency and service excellence, designed to ensure seamless procedures and the comfort of pilgrims from the moment they arrive at the airport until their departure to the Holy Lands.
Sharjah Airport experienced considerable activity with the arrival of Hajj pilgrims, as dedicated service counters were allocated to support them. Airport teams welcomed pilgrims and offered assistance and guidance in coordination with the relevant authorities and airline partners, helping to ensure smooth procedures and seamless movement throughout the airport.
Operational readiness was further enhanced through the deployment of additional field personnel and the activation of extra travel processing counters, including baggage check-in services and the expanded use of smart gates, which served to accelerate procedures and improve passenger flow.
As part of efforts to provide a comfortable and integrated travel experience, designated rest areas for pilgrims were arranged within the airport, alongside enhanced logistical services, Arabic hospitality, and the distribution of commemorative gifts. Multilingual awareness and guidance materials were also made available, reflecting Sharjah Airport’s commitment to delivering a thorough and human-centered travel experience that caters to the needs of diverse passenger groups.

Sharjah Airport Authority also places significant emphasis on health and wellbeing. In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Sharjah Health Authority, Sharjah Airport Medical Center is delivering preventive healthcare services for pilgrims by performing the necessary medical screenings and offering comprehensive health awareness support, including the distribution of the “Pilgrims’ Health Guide,” which contains important guidance and advice to help ensure pilgrims’ safety throughout their journey.
Coordination was also carried out with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs to provide a religious advisor who offers guidance and support to pilgrims and answers inquiries related to performing Hajj rituals, enabling them to carry out their religious duties with ease and peace of mind.
Celebrating Eid Al Adha with travellers
