Queen Alia International Airport Wins ‘2025 ACI World-Amadeus Technology Innovation Award’ for Smart Cleaning System

  • 2025-12-02

Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has won the ‘2025 ACI World-Amadeus Technology Innovation Award’ in the category of ‘Best Innovation in Airport Operations and Installations Management’. This accolade recognizes the airport’s Smart Cleaning System – an advanced, integrated solution that redefines facility management through technology and real-time intelligence.

The achievement follows Airport International Group’s initiative to develop and implement the Smart Cleaning System in collaboration with the cleaning service provider and its partners, culminating in the deployment of four state-of-the-art cleaning robots at QAIA as part of a broader technology ecosystem. Designed to interface with other airport systems, the solution leverages real-time data collection and analytics to optimize cleaning routes and resource allocation in direct response to passenger traffic patterns and shifting operational needs. This approach enables cleaning teams to proactively address high-traffic areas, significantly boosts efficiency and consistently maintains the highest standards of hygiene throughout the terminal.

Presented by Airports Council International (ACI) World in partnership with Amadeus, the awards honor forward-thinking digital and technological initiatives that elevate operational excellence and reshape the future of air travel. The Smart Cleaning System is a clear example of how data and innovation can improve comfort and care for millions of passengers who walk through our doors each year. I extend my sincere thanks to our Facility Management Department and our partners, whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in bringing this system to life.
