Plaza Premium Group celebrates Grand Opening of Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge at Cambodia’s New Techo International Airport

The grand opening ceremony was officiated by Her Excellency Cham Nimul – Minister of Commerce, His Excellency Shaharuddin Onn - Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia alongside Dr. Lim Lina – Canadia Group Vice Chairperson, Okhna Charles Vann - CEO of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. The opening of the Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge coincides with a transformative period for Cambodia’s tourism industry. Phnom Penh welcomed over 1.5 million international visitors in the first half of 2025, reflecting a 30% year-on-year increase as the country strengthens its position as a regional hub for leisure and business travel.

Strategically located at the new Techo International Airport, one of Southeast Asia’s most advanced and eco-efficient aviation gateways designed by Foster + Partners, both lounges elevate Cambodia’s hospitality offering and create a lasting first impression for travellers visiting the Kingdom.

During the grand opening, guests and dignitaries were among the first to experience the Plaza Premium First Phnom Penh — Cambodia’s first of its kind. The 110-seat lounge impressed attendees with its elegant design inspired by Khmer artistry, reflecting the nation’s timeless beauty and craftsmanship. The interior features a curated selection of artworks, including pieces by renowned designer and sustainability advocate Bill Bensley. The experience also showcased the lounge’s exclusive massage services and private VIP rooms, offering travellers a serene retreat guided by Plaza Premium First ambassadors known for their warmth and personalised service.

Complementing the premium experience, the Plaza Premium Lounge Phnom Penh introduced a 120-seat sanctuary that celebrates Cambodia’s rich heritage through local cuisine, art, and cultural details. Welcoming ambassadors dressed in the elegant Sampot, Cambodia’s national attire, greeted guests with traditional warmth. The culinary journey featured Beef Lok Lak, Fish Amok, Pursat Orange Juice, and Koh Kroubey Jasmine Tea — an authentic taste of Cambodian hospitality. The lounge also drew admiration for its art partnership with acclaimed Cambodian artist Dina Chhan, whose vibrant works reflect the evolving spirit of modern Cambodia.
