KIX Summer Vacation Special Event: Parent & Child Eco Tour 2025

Kansai Airports is excited to announce the “Parent & Child Eco Tour 2025,” a special summer vacation event taking place at Kansai International Airport on Monday 18 August and Tuesday 19 August 2025. 

Designed for students in grades 4 through 6, this fun and educational tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the airport during the summer vacation. Participants will visit areas that are normally off limits to the public and learn firsthand about Kansai Airports Group’s environmental initiatives—including decarbonization, circular economy, and environmental symbiosis—as well as the sustainability efforts of airlines. By experiencing these initiatives firsthand, children will gain a deeper understanding of environmental issues and develop greater awareness of the importance of building a sustainable society. 

Kansai Airports Group remains committed to creating airports that are both people-friendly and environmentally conscious. Through enjoyable and meaningful programs like this, we aim to share the excitement of airports and travel with as many people as possible. 

Event details 
Date & Time: Monday 18 August and Tuesday 19 August 2025, 12:00 – 16:30 each day *The event will proceed in light rain but may be canceled in case of severe weather. 
Eligibility: Elementary school students in grades 4 to 6 and their guardians (age 18 or older) 
*Children must be accompanied by a guardian. 
Capacity: 25 pairs (50 participants) per day, total of 50 pairs (100 participants) over two days 
*If applications exceed capacity, participants will be selected by lottery. 
Fee: Free of charge 
Event details:

• Ride on a hydrogen-powered fuel cell microbus 
• Guided tour and demonstrations at the airport's environmental facilities 
• Observation of environmental measures during aircraft operations
