Kansai Airports: “KIX Culture Gate Project” Takes Off, Aiming to Be an Information Hub of Our Culture

  • 2024-03-27

Kansai Airports is excited to announce the launch of the "KIX CULTURE GATE Project" at Kansai International Airport ("KIX") on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

The KIX CULTURE GATE Project is designed to promote the rich and diverse culture of Kansai and Japan to the world from KIX, where passengers from around the world come and go. This project aims to evolve the airport into a place where art and culture interact and to create a space where air travelers and residents of the local community can enjoy the experience daily.

As the first phase of the project, we have exhibited a large-scale artwork on the wall of the T2 Domestic Departure area in collaboration with four artists with deep ties to the Kansai region.

We will continue to place artworks one by one throughout the terminal building and welcome as many visitors as possible from Japan and overseas to help build momentum for the success of the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo.

Kansai Airports Group will continue to contribute to promoting culture as an information hub for our culture and create exciting passenger experiences.

Period of exhibition: Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - Fall, 2025 (TBD)
Location: KIX T2 Domestic Departure Gate area (after security checkpoints*)
*Only domestic flight passengers have access.
