Guam Int'l Airport to serve as support location for Valiant Shield 2026

  • 2026-06-22

The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam (GIAA) facilities has been designated a support location for Valiant Shield 2026 military exercises taking place in the region.

The exercises will consist of US military aircraft and personnel and other participants operating over Guam and throughout the region from June 22 through July 1, 2026.

“GIAA’s runways and taxiways are a vital piece of infrastructure supporting not only commercial aviation, and also serves as a critical alternate or divert location for military operations,” stated John M. Quinata, Executive Manager. “GIAA is proud to support regional military exercises as a support location,” he continued.

The community may anticipate increased military air activity and associated noise on or around the Guam International Airport facilities from June 22, 2026, through July 1, 2026. Commercial operations will continue without impact.

“We thank our Guam residents for their patience and understanding as the Airport does its part in support of these military training exercises,” concluded GIAA Executive Manager Quinata.
