- 2025-10-24
Canberra Airport and Fly Pelican are pleased to announce a brand-new direct service between Canberra and Avalon Airport (Victoria), commencing this Sunday, 26 October 2025.
With fares starting from just $250 one way, the new service will operate three times a week: Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays offering travellers a fast and convenient connection between the nation’s capital and Victoria’s vibrant Geelong and Surf Coast regions.
Canberra Airport’s Head of Aviation, Michael Thomson, welcomed the addition of the new route.
“We’re thrilled to see Fly Pelican expanding its network with this important new connection. The Canberra–Avalon service will make it easier for travellers to access the Surf Coast, Bellarine Peninsula, and Greater Geelong region and for Victorians to experience everything Canberra and our region has to offer,” Mr Thomson said.
The new service opens exciting opportunities for both leisure and business travellers, providing a convenient alternative to flying into Melbourne and a direct link to one of Victoria’s fastest-growing regional gateways.
Fly Pelican CEO, Marty Hawley, said the airline was proud to launch the Canberra–Avalon route.
“This new service demonstrates Fly Pelican’s continued commitment to strengthening regional air connectivity. We’ve listened to our customers and are confident this route will be popular with both leisure and corporate travellers,” Mr Graham said.
ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr welcomed the new direct connection.
“This new service further strengthens Canberra’s links with regional Victoria and will help boost tourism and business ties between our communities. It’s great to see Fly Pelican continuing to grow its network from the capital,” the Chief Minister said.
Fly Pelican operates a fleet of 19-seat Jetstream 32 aircraft across routes in New South Wales, the ACT and now Victoria. The airline plays a vital role in connecting regional centres and supporting local economies.
