The Fiji Airports Finance Department has been awarded the Best Finance Team Award at the prestigious 5th Global CFO & Finance Transformation Conference & Awards 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The award recognises Fiji Airports’ leadership in financial governance, innovation, and transformation in the company and across the aviation sector in Asia-Pacific.
The annual conference is a leading platform honouring excellence in financial leadership across diverse and high-impact industries.
Fiji Airports, being the only airport represented among finalists, contested among top-performing organisations, which included rail operators, investment firms, financial institutions, insurance providers, and key national infrastructure custodians.
Fiji Airports chief executive Mesake Nawari said the finance team has demonstrated the highest level of commitment, resilience and innovation through challenging periods, including the COVID pandemic and post-pandemic recovery phase.
“This achievement reflects the team’s unwavering dedication to delivering financial excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement,” Mr Nawari said.
“Their leadership has strengthened our organisation and set new benchmarks for strong aviation financial management.”
Corporate World Intelligence Head of Asia Pacific Projects Chessy Patricia said this remarkable achievement is a testament to Fiji Airports commitment, professionalism, and excellence in financial management.
She said the success reflects the high standards Fiji Airports upholds and the positive influence it brings to the organisation and the aviation sector as a whole.
“Your collective efforts in strengthening financial governance, driving strategic initiatives, and supporting organisational growth have truly set a benchmark for the industry,” Ms Patricia said.
“This award not only celebrates your outstanding teamwork and strategic impact but also recognises your ability to deliver exceptional results through innovation, resilience, and strong financial leadership.
“Well done to the entire Fiji Airports Finance Department, your hard work continues to inspire.”
The award highlights Fiji Airports’ success across several key areas, including the recognition of Fiji Airports as a leader in finance transformation beyond the aviation industry and the company’s commitment to strong compliance, risk management, and ethical financial stewardship.
It recognises Fiji Airports adoption of new financial strategies, digital systems, and team development frameworks and establishes the organisation as a role model for organisations pursuing financial transformation and operational excellence.
This recognition also brings strategic benefits to Fiji Airports, reinforcing confidence among partners, investors, employees, and stakeholders as it looks to deliver billion dollars of capital projects as part of its master plan.
It enhances the organisation’s international profile, supports talent attraction, and validates the finance team’s central role in delivering resilience and sustainable growth.
The awards event brought together 72 finance leaders from Malaysia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Brunei, and the Maldives, with attendees comprising 40 per cent C-level executives and directors, underscoring the global significance of the honour.
Mr Nawari adds the award is a win for Fiji Airports and Fiji as it reflects the organisation’s commitment to building strong financial systems that support national economic development, operational excellence, and world-class airspace and airport services.
