Fiji Airports Clinches Double Honours at 2025 Prime Minister’s Awards
- 2025-12-11
Fiji Airports has been recognised as a regional aviation leader, securing two top honours at the 2025 Prime Minister’s International Business Awards. Chief Executive Officer Mr Mesake Nawari received the coveted Executive of the Year Award, while the company earned the Premier Large Business Operating Internationally Award, highlighting its role in elevating the Pacific’s aviation sector.

The awards acknowledge Fiji Airports’ transformative runway-to-airspace model and its commitment to delivering world-class operational safety, service innovation, and sustainability across 15 national airports. With a service reach that positions Fiji as the aviation hub of the Blue Pacific, the organisation is redefining air connectivity and regional integration.
Central to the company’s success is its customer-first “Bula Experience”, a service culture grounded in Fijian hospitality, which helped achieve ACI’s Customer Experience Level 1 Accreditation six months ahead of schedule. Operational excellence also includes ADS-B surveillance adoption, Level 4 Carbon Accreditation, and modernised navigation across outer-island airports.
Since his appointment in August 2023, CEO Mr Mesake Nawari has spearheaded a bold transformation plan, driving innovation, talent development, and stakeholder trust. Under his leadership, Fiji Airports has updated its 25-year Masterplan, relaunched infrastructure projects long overdue, and broken ground on a new Labasa Airport terminal all while maintaining uninterrupted operations across Nadi and Nausori.
“These awards reflect the dedication of our people and the shared vision we hold with our stakeholders,” said Mr Nawari.
“Aviation is entering a new era defined by resilience, technology, and sustainability. Fiji Airports is proud to be leading from the front.”
The organisation continues investing in digital transformation, including biometric check-in systems,
automated bag drops, and advanced screening technologies scheduled for rollout in early 2026. By aligning with ICAO standards and Fiji’s national goals, Fiji Airports is poised to remain a trusted partner in Pacific aviation and global air connectivity.
