Demonstration Test of Visual Assistance App Kobe Airport to Further Improve Customer Service

  • 2023-09-27

Kansai Airports Kobe is pleased to announce a demonstration test to be conducted for the "NaviLens"*1, an app to assist the visually impaired, from September 28, 2023.

This test is to verify how this app can guide the visually impaired travel from the terminal building of Kobe Airport to the Portliner Kobe Airport Station by using a smartphone camera to scan a 2D tags installed inside the terminal building. We expect that this will be a good tool used in airports that are usually crowded with many people. This app will help the visually impaired to feel safer and more secure walking alone in the airport by using voice guidance provided by the smartphone application.

Kansai Airports Group will proactively conduct demonstration tests for the full-scale introduction of cutting-edge technologies to improve the convenience of the airport and provide a new travel experience that is safe, secure, and comfortable.
