Bula Festival in partnership with Nadi International Airport to showcase Community, Culture, Aviation and Tourism

  • 2026-06-22

Fiji Airports has strengthened its support for community development, cultural preservation, aviation, and tourism growth through a partnership with the Nadi Bula Festival Committee for the 2026 Nadi International Airport Bula Festival.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to celebrating Fiji's rich culture, supporting local communities, and promoting Nadi as one of the country's premier tourism destinations.

This is a partnership between Nadi International Airport and the Nadi Bula Festival, recognising the airport's important role as Fiji's main international gateway and its longstanding connection to the people, businesses, landowners, and communities of Nadi. Nadi Bula Festival President Ms Salome Williams welcomed the partnership and acknowledged Fiji Airports' contribution towards the festival and its community initiatives.

"The committee acknowledges Fiji Airports' immense contribution towards this worthy cause. This support represents a shared commitment, and it means a lot to us in our quest to assist the needy within our Nadi community," Ms Williams said.

Fiji Airports Chief Executive Officer Mesake Nawari said the partnership reflects a shared vision of celebrating Fiji's culture, supporting people and communities, and promoting tourism while recognising the role aviation plays in connecting Fiji to the world.

"As Fiji's main international gateway, Nadi International Airport is often the first and last experience visitors have of our country. It plays a vital role in connecting people, cultures, opportunities, and destinations while serving as a gateway to Fiji's renowned hospitality and tourism industry," Mr Nawari said.

"The Nadi Bula Festival has been a cornerstone of community life for sixty-six years. It brings people together, celebrates our cultural diversity, supports charitable causes, and provides opportunities for young people to develop as leaders and ambassadors for Fiji. "The festival also reflects the warmth, friendliness, and spirit of welcome that Fiji is known for around the world. These are the same values that visitors experience when they arrive through Nadi International Airport."

Mr Nawari said Fiji Airports recognises the important role tourism and community events play in supporting livelihoods, driving economic activity, and strengthening Fiji's global reputation as a destination of choice.

He added that the organisation was proud to support an event that not only celebrates culture and community but also contributes to the economic and social well-being of Nadi and the Western Division. "The festival's longstanding commitment to charitable causes and community initiatives is something Fiji Airports is honoured to support. Through this partnership, we look forward to celebrating the connections between community, culture, aviation, and tourism while showcasing the very best of Nadi and Fiji to local and international audiences," he said.

Fiji Airports acknowledged the Nadi Bula Festival Committee for its dedication to preserving and growing one of Fiji's most iconic community events and expressed its commitment to working alongside organisers to deliver a successful 2026 festival.

The 2026 Bula Festival in partnership with Nadi International Airport, is expected to bring together communities, businesses, visitors, and stakeholders in a celebration of culture, community spirit, aviation, tourism, and the warmth and hospitality for which Fiji is renowned.
