Be part of a historic moment for Newcastle Airport. Bali first flight

Newcastle Airport is marking a historic milestone for the Hunter Region with the inaugural international flight to Bali taking off tomorrow, 21 October 2025.  

 

WHEN:
- Tuesday, 21 October 2025 (7:20am start for formalities, welcome earlier for celebration) 

- 6:30am – CHECK-IN OPENS (Jetstar JQ88 NTL–DPS) 

 

Balinese dancers perform 
Photo booth, fans, and props in full swing 
Tropical breakfast available 

7:35am - JQ89 arrives from Bali (Business Hunter CEO Bob Hawes is on this flight) 


7:40am - There will be a water canon salute when this first flight from Bali lands (Vision will be supplied to media.)

 

8:10am–8:30am – FORMALITIES (Media advised to allow time to get through Departures Screening.)

By 9:00am – PASSENGERS MOVE TO INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURES

- Newcastle Airport,  Williamtown Drive, Williamtown  

- Please go through Departures and security and walk to Gate 5 for the event. 

- Media are asked to park in the Long Stay carpark.
