  • 2024-03-13

Perth Airport is delighted to welcome a new airline from the AirAsia group, AirAsia Malaysia (AK), who have entered the Australian market for the first time following their arrival into Perth from Kuala Lumpur last night.

In addition to AirAsia X (D7), AirAsia Malaysia (AK) will operate a new Kuala Lumpur – Perth daily service. Perth Airport Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer Kate Holsgrove said that AirAsia Malaysia’s new service between Perth and Kuala Lumpur provides more options for those travelling between Western Australia and Malaysia’s capital.

“Malaysia is Western Australia’s fourth biggest international visitor market, injecting $99 million into the WA economy in visitor expenditure for the year ending in September 2023

“We’ve got strong business, education, trade and tourism links with Malaysia and this new non-stop service provides further opportunities by adding more than 170,000 new seats to the Perth market annually.”

“We look forward to building a strong partnership with AirAsia Malaysia to ensure the success of this service.”

AirAsia Malaysia (AK) is operating the service on an A321neo aircraft which has 236 seats. It will arrive into Perth at 19:50 and depart at 20:40 each day.
