Airports Innovate - Pre-Conference Workshop in Busan, Republic of Korea
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI EUROPE organised a pre-conference workshop at the Airports Innovate event in Busan, South Korea in November. The full-day workshop, scheduled on 25th November, focused on essential topics around innovation that included enterprise (airport) 3.0, opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, robot technologies in airport operations and smart data processing. The agenda of the day included a series of inspiring presentations, panels sessions and breakout group discussions that enabled participants to network and share their experiences.
The workshop was designed to be an interactive and inclusive platform that brings together airport industry professionals, technology providers, regulators, and other stakeholders from different regions. The workshop welcomed hub airports that are successful in the innovation front to share their experiences, but at the same time, encouraged small and emerging airports that are aspired to technological advancements to seek recommendations in addressing their challenges.
The workshop was a true success that saw over 100 participants from Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe and North America, and included experts from airports, start-ups and consultants.
ACI Aisa-Pacific & Middle East would like to express our sincere gratitude to ACI EUROPE and Korea Airports Corporation for the excellent collaboration that led to the successful workshop

A proposed Total Airport Management Exchange Programme
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI EUROPE are developing an inter-region Total Airport Management (TAM) exchange program. This initiative is dedicated for exchanging dialogues and best practices about the implementation of TAM initiatives (e.g. A-CDM, AOP, APOC, etc) that would facilitate operation efficiency, enhance resource optimisation and improve customer experience.
The program includes a 5-year roadmap, which consists of an annual exchange program that will feature visits to airports and ATC & navigation facilities in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East; development of a joint position paper on TAM; and publication of a TAM Guidebook.
The program is currently in planning process, with the expectation to start in Q3 2026.
