Airports across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East are preparing for nearly 7% annual air travel growth over the next 25 years. To support sustainable development, the 2nd ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Assembly in New Delhi adopted a resolution promoting the optimisation of current capacity and the expansion of new infrastructure.

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will be the host airport for the World Cargo Symposium (WCS) in 2024, as announced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) today. A project to improve the experience of travellers flying out of Queenstown Airport is under way. The interior of the terminal will be rearranged to make the Domestic Departure Lounge larger and to upgrade the amenities for passengers waiting to board a plane. This will include incorporating the existing Airspresso café into the departure lounge area and increasing the number of toilets.
SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will commence on 28 April the trial of speedy ferry services serving Pazhou in Guangzhou, connecting the restricted area of HKIA to the downtown of Guangzhou. The international passenger traffic is making further recovery, similarly to last month, especially with foreign passengers (58% from March 2019), exceeding 1 million in a single month for the first time in three years and one month since February 2020. The total passenger traffic for the three airports reached 99% recovery from March 2019, a highest ratio since COVID-19 pandemic started (March 2020). The international cargo aircraft movements and volume were both slightly below the levels of last year.
Kansai Airports today announced a forecast of international passenger traffic, Japanese and nonJapanese combined, at Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the coming Golden Week (forecast for 10 days from April 28, 2023, to May 7, 2023).
