A total of 31 airports – 27 airports from Asia-Pacific and 4 from the Middle East- have been recognised with Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, which are based on most reliable global measurement and benchmarking programme for airport customer experience

Despite considering the Government of Japan’s decision to remove border measures imposed in the Country in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a positive step, ACI Asia-Pacific recommends the Government for a complete removal of international air travel restrictions, indicating that the industry cannot fully recover amid curbs.
The 17th Meeting of the ACI Asia-Pacific Economics Committee took place in Singapore on May 19, 2022, the first physical meeting since the onset of COVID-19. The hybrid meeting also offered an opportunity to join virtually for those who could not make it. The meeting had 9 in-person attendees and 22 dialing in from around the region.
Aircraft noise management is a high priority for airports as part of their environmental sustainability. Over the years, airports have been engaging with local governments, aviation authorities and other stakeholders to explore solutions for aircraft noise management. ACI Asia-Pacific, as one of the key stakeholders in the industry, has been helping its members to address aircraft noise.

Asia-Pacific and the Middle East aviation industry is experiencing green shoots of recovery, according to the first edition of the Airport Industry Outlook, a quarterly report by Airports Council International Asia-Pacific (ACI APAC). The report, developed in partnership with Mott MacDonald — a global engineering, management and development consultancy— provides a snapshot of how airports in the region have performed during the first quarter of 2022 (Jan to March). This analysis also sheds light on two recurring themes which are currently impacting the industry — COVID-19 pandemic and the geo-political conflict.
