A total of 31 airports – 27 airports from Asia-Pacific and 4 from the Middle East- have been recognised with Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, which are based on most reliable global measurement and benchmarking programme for airport customer experience
Airports Council International (ACI) recently announced the winners for green airports in the Asia-Pacific region in 2022, and TIA won the honor of gold award in the 15 to 50 million passengers category by its “Lean Power Consumption and Carbon Reduction” project.
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) was recently acknowledged by Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific as one of only 12 airports in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East to receive the Green Airports Recognition 2022 for airports serving 5 to 15 million passengers. QAIA was granted Gold recognition for its dedicated efforts in transitioning towards a sustainable, low-carbon future, focusing on its achievements in heating and cooling system improvements.
Velana International Airport (VIA) receives the Airport Health Accreditation Certificate for the 2nd time from Airport Council International (ACI). The certificate was awarded due to the continuous effort by VIA ensuring health and safety measure during the COVID-19 Pandemic era.
ACI Asia-Pacific has announced the winner of the association’s signature Human Resources programme, the Young Executive Award 2022. Mr. Rekibuddin Ahmed, Manager – Environment, of Delhi International Airport Limited, India was selected the winner. The panel of judges also awarded Honourable Mention to Ms. Emily Chan, Assistant Manager of Standards and Delivery, of Airport Authority Hong Kong.
ACI Asia-Pacific has announced the results of the Green Airports Recognition 2022, recognizing twelve airports in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East for their outstanding achievements in carbon management. Participating airports (adjudicated according to the size of the airport) all demonstrated exceptional best practices in their respective decarbonization journeys, specifically in Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emission reductions.
Sharjah Airport won the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ award in the 5 to 15 million passengers per year category and the ‘Voice of the Customer’ accreditation given by the Airports Council International (ACI).
The global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI) has named KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LIA) as among the world’s best airports in their respective categories for the year 2021.
As part of efforts to standardise the health and safety protocols for passengers travelling under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) By Air with other participating countries such as Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand, Malaysia Airports together with Ministry of Transport have obtained the approval and support from Ministry of Health to implement the ‘Test and Release’ arrival process starting from 16 March 2022.
