The first edition of this booklet covers four job functions: airside driving, FOD control, runway surface condition assessment and reporting, and inspection of movement area. The other five functions, planned to be included in the next edition, are: aerodrome movement area maintenance, work in progress, wildlife hazard management, apron safety, and runway safety.

The purpose of these guidelines is not to substitute the library of existing literature on the subject but rather to give advice airports who wish to have a “quick start guide” before delving into to other more detailed materials.

ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Operational Safety Committee hopes that this consolidated checklist can serve as a reference to help airports systematically identify safety hazards and mitigate the subsequent risks in relation to change.
