Bengaluru International Airport reports 12% annual growth in passenger traffic-2011-12-23

Bangalore, December 23, 2011: Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) today announced the annual traffic figures for 2011 as well as other highlights of this period. Annual air traffic movements grew by 7%, touching 116,851 movements and 12.53 million passengers for 2011. The airport at present handles more than 350 aircraft movements, servicing around 35,000 passengers per day. Since the year it opened in 2008, it has grown by 54% and continues to grow above national average every year. Adding to the increasing passenger traffic, the airport has seen the introduction of 15 new international airlines in the last 3 years which includes 6 new airlines in 2011.
